Would you be too upset if I said I like the before better?
The after is nice, but I like the more original look. Nice job on it anyway.

Looks absolutely great Ron. You do nice work. Congrats on getting finished - for now anyway!

Nope, doesn't bother me at all. That's why they make so many different styles. Back in the 70's and 80's there wasn't that much variety. I remember all the bikes basically looking like mine used to. Now it's one of a kind...still thinking about those clubman bars, though.

The exhaust looks umpteen times better, Ron! I
did like the two-tone paint better, but the arse looks uber-nicer than before! Congrats, and kudos to your mad skillz!

Thanks guys! Zoo, the black spot on the muffler wiped right off, once I noticed it. It was a smudge from my thumb or something when installing the exhaust. Thanks for reminding me to paint it a while back, I was a little busy, and hadn't even noticed yet. I ran out and bought the paint in the next few days. I'm curious to see what that paint ends up looking like after it's burned in a little...haven't had a chance to run it much today.

What did you use to paint the exhaust? I was thknig about doing mine black, but I'm a little worried about ruining it.

It's rustoleum high temperature paint. Says it's good to 1200 degrees F! I ran it fora few minute to warm it up, and it smoked, but never changed color or sheen at all. I like the grey if it doesn'y turn from thr heat. If it gets darker, that's okay too. It's amazing how much difference that one thing makes in the look of the bike, condition-wise. Like night and day!

Here's the most recent photo...I actually washed the bike before taking this one. You can see the clouds over my neighbor's house, and a maple tree reflected in the tailpiece. This is the first pic i've taken that actually captures effect of the end result.

I think it looks slick! I saw some of the progress photos and you did a real pro job there. Big improvement over the original and it gives you a nice custom look.
Personally though I think the front cowl looks a little awkward, I think the bike would look better with a bare headlamp. Just an opinion.
Course then where would you put your puppy?
