Are Teknic leather jackets any good? How's the build quality?

How do they stand up to Alpinestars, Icon, and Joe Rocket?

I was set on getting an Alpinestars jacket till I discovered I could get a $300 retail Teknic jacket for $99...a good bit cheaper than what I'd be paying for Alpinestars gear.

Anyone have an opinion?

Teknik was my first jacket; 10 years later I've still got it. It stood up to rain, tons of bugs and the occasional snowfall. I really can't complain at all about the quality. Compared to the other brands you mentioned; I found all good, but haven't found the quality of teknik in the others. They just feel 'cheaper' when I've tried them on, and it doesn't feel as 'thick' on me.

Comfort is also a very personal choice that you'd have to consider for yourself.

At least for myself, I remember that jacket cost more at the time than the other brands, but I think it was well worth it.
