What is the best drive? Chain, shaft or belt

#1 Unread post by Diamond »

I have been searching for a nice Japanese cruiser and one of the many things that I see that I need to make a choice about is what type of drive do I prefer. Can anyone out there educate me on this subject?

Any
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I've only had shaft and chain so I'll limit my comments to those. I definitely prefer the shaft drive. I got tired of cleaning and lubing my chain. It does get messy. Some people might not mind cleaning and lubing them, but to me it got kinda old. I LOVE the shaft drive!

I am on my 2nd shaft drive scoot and I love the smoothness of it . It is one of the nicest rides I've ever had . Far more comfortable than my Camaro even...........
