"Turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country. History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. "

I stopped reading after this. I've heard of this little place called Canada... I think they have 2 national languages. But I could be wrong.

Lamm is not the only one to see what is coming.for the average citizen to raise concern over these issues is deemed racist and being a hate monger.let everyone just sit back and let it happen.turn our nation into a third world pukehole and call it progress.how long before we get the same thing France is getting now.and when it comes we will solve it with appeasment and entitlement giveaways as usual until the next time they want more.

That's bunk. This country was populated and built by people speaking different languauges. The current residents always forget that and think they invented the place. If you aren't one, your daddy or his daddy's daddy was. Go back much further and there wasn't anyone here who was speaking English, the king's version or otherwise.

Since when was canada having a national crisis that was endagering its continued existance?

Last I checked Canada was doing just fine even with 2 national languages.

Most europeans already speak multiple languages and I doubt any of their countries is about to collapse in the near future.

Its all overblown.

Trying to scare mid-westerners is what it sounds like (who are used to seeing 90% white people everywhere).

Im originally from NY and learned from a very early age that ther is no one AMERICAN culture. Its a mix of many many cultures. New York would be the best example of this. Your stereotypical white suburban culture HAS NEVER EXISTED THERE. NY has always been a mix of different cultural groups and for the most part everyone gets along just fine.

I agree with what the speaker said for the most part.

Canada could be doing a whole lot better than it is, and a major reason is because of bilingualism/multi-cultism and geography. It gains us very little if anything and costs us plenty. Both in hard cash and in national direction and focus.

I can't even fill out a census form in my own country. Under the 'Nationality" column, 'Canadian' is not an acceptable answer. Only hyphenated-Canadians allowed. No exemptions. Well I'm Canadian, that's all that I am, and I can't change that... even if I wanted to, witch I definitely don't..........aarrgggg....

Better stop now....

why not visit some native american reservations out that way and get their views on immigration.i am sure some of their wise leaders thought the white man would assimilate with them.worked really well didnt it??

See, we've had this problem with Quebec wanting to be a sovereign nation for many years now. They even went so far as to call a "Referendum" on the issue a few years ago, where Quebec wanted to seperate from the rest of Canada and put it to a vote... it was defeated by a very narrow margin. It's been an issue ever since and the Parti Quebecois, the main separitist political party in Quebec (aka" those seperatist b*stards) have a mandate to ensure that the issue never dies. They've just elected a new leader who has promised to make their dream a reality: New PQ Leader.

We've had it over here for recorded time...

There are seperatists in Scotland, Ulster, Wales and Somerset. A lot of us are afraid of becoming part of the European superstate.

Immigration issues are constantly in the press, illegal and otherwise.

Historically though we are a mongrol nation. The celts and picts arent native here - they arrived something silly BC and kicked the natives out. The saxons arrived and kicked the Picts and Celts into other places on these islands. The Romans invaded and everyone hated them but when they left we had absorbed parts of their culture and language***. The Vikings were here during the age of expansion and they left their mark on our culture**. After the Vikings* came the Norse in the form of the French and that really left a mark on our culture.

In the last 60 years we've absorbed black culture from our former colonies, Indian and Asian immigrants and now we have the Eastern Europeans coming over in large numbers.

It takes study to read old english because we have absorbed so many languages and cultures since it was commonly used - as a Nation Britain has evolved and continues to.

Thats not a bad thing.

If something, animal/plant/culture/whatever, fails to evolve it dies out when the conditions it relies on change.

Adapt and Survive is the name of the game.

Fear of the unknown is probably the worst of all human fears. Racists arent angry or naturally twisted. They are afraid of the unknown, afraid of change and should be pitied for that.

*Technically the Vikings were renegade Norse, asked to leave their homes for being 'disruptive'. Normans were Norse that had colonised North France (I understand that people in Brittany still dont consider themselves French). In fact if memory serves William the 'illigitimate' was cousin to the former Dane mark (southern Britain) and one of the Norse kings.
However the Norse, Norman and Vikings had evolved related but independant cultures.

** Tuesday - Tyrsday. Try being the Norse god of War and Justice
Wednesday - Wodensday. Woden being a corruption of Odin the supreme Norse God
Thursday - Thorsday. Thor not needing any introduction.
