Is there any way to polish off a scratch on the chrome exhaust?

You can buy chrome polish at any auto parts store and apply it as directed on the container.

There are a number of ways. It's easy to make it look worse than it does right now. It's harder to make it look nice again. It does depend on how deep the scratch is. It will take time and elbow grease as well.
