I got this beat up 750 and trying to get it going, but it's got some issues. Cranks but won't fire, something's draining the battery, and some good size oil leaks. Anyway, I was Just poking around today and decided to take a look at the alternator. Pulled off the cover and a whole f-load of oil came pouring out. Probably about 2 pints worth. The stator coil is totally gunked up with oil. This isn't normal right??!! What do you think - a seal back in there is shot? Is there a way to clean up the coil or is it a lost cause?
