Hi Everyone!

I started riding my bike regularly just 3 months ago, joined a local bike website and discovered TMW just now. The site looks really nice and I hope to make new friends, learn more about bikes and hopefully help out where I can. I work as a Helpdesk Analyst for a software company in Makati, Philippines. I ride a small bike (Honda XRM 110cc) which, I would think by int'l. standards, is considered a scooter. The local buzz term for it is 'underbone' and is the type that has its gas tank under the seat. It can do 80kph (50mph) on the highway and lets me cover 50kms/liter of gas (approx.125m/gallon), which is really great for my daily work commute of 40kms (25m) both ways. I'm very much interested in off-road / trail rides and I had the bike customized with lifters so I can use it for this purpose. I also joined a local group that does a lot of weekend trail runs and I hope to join them soon.

Guess that's it for now, sorry to ramble on....

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies. Yup, I have been enjoying the past 3 months a lot! I've also learned a lot - mostly from our local website, MotorcyclePhilippines.com and actual road experiences, of course.

i came from the Philippines.

im now here in LA county.

it's funny, now that i think about it, my drivers lic over there has motorcycle included. i never even tested for it. it was so easy to get a lic over there.

are they more strict now over there nowadays?

here, im gonna take an MSF course since i'll learn a lot, plus i heard it's not as hard as passing the DMV(dept. of motor vehicles) test.

Hello VermilionX, yes, it's easy to get a license here....only in the Phils.! Nice to meet a 'kabayan' (fellow countryman) here! Good luck with your DMV test! Ride safely....
