If the people dontleave an e-mail or number on a craigs list how do you reply? Is it the e-mail like sale-112757382@craigslist.org?

if I remember correctly, you click on the blue highlighted contact in the ad... it sends a message to the email the seller provided without letting you see who it's going to. But they see YOUR email addy.

Then if the seller wishes, they can respond directly to you.

That long funny looking email address means they have chosen to have their email address anonomized. Keeps the spammers from harvesting email addresses. I use craigslist all the time - I highly recommend it for buying or selling.
