Toyuzu is home for a while....

#1 Unread post by Toyuzu »

Hello all. For those of you who know me - I've graduated basic training and I've been at Fort Bliss in Texas for the last two weeks for AIT training. I'm home now for a couple of weeks for the holidays, then I return to Fort Bliss on Jan. 3rd.

I'm looking forward to catching up here and maybe even riding a few miles if the weather will cooperate.

Oh, by the way - I'm still in one piece and I even showed up a few of the younger guys in basic.

Woohoo, glad to have you back!
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Good to hear that you are getting a break Matt. Does this mean that the FJ will be back on the road for a while?

Congrats on completing basic!

I used to work at Fort Bliss and White Sands and grew up in that area. It can get cold, due to the atitude, but overall, you could have been stationed in a much lousier places for winter riding. Do you have the bike in El Paso?

I used to ride year round in that area.

Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to have the bike there. If my job training were over 20 weeks, they would permit me to have a POV (privately owned vehicle). But as it is I'm stuck marching or bussing wherever I need to go. At least I have two weeks at home to put on some miles and blow off steam a bit. If only the rain would let up..... :frusty:

Toyuzu,

What is your MOS? Any idea where you are going to be stationed after all your schooling is done? If you are heading to Germany shoot me an email or two. Heck when you are headed downrange give me a holler as well, my wife and I can take you to the best German Schnitzel we have found!
