Winter ride

#1 Unread post by Seetrout »

It finally warmed up a bit today.
I was out running errands today and saw 9 bikes in 13 miles.
3 HD's. No helmets. :(
1 metric cruiser (not close enough to determine brand). Wearing helmet. :D
3 sport bikes. 3 helmets. :D :D :D
2 scooters. 1 with, 1 without helmet. :D :(
I couldn't stand it, I had to go for a ride.
After breaking my kneecap in half in August I'm a little gunshy.
I've acquired a jacket with armor (as much for the wife and kids peace of mind as for my own safety), but have not yet gotten armored pants. :)
30 minutes of riding is going to cost me 2 days of pain in my knee, but it was worth it. :D
I don't know how you Upper Midwest and Canadian guys get through the looooong nonriding season?????  (intentional dig at sevesturus & buzz)
If either of you guys (or anyone else on this forum) make it to SE PA. let me know and I'll show you some of our great back roads. :D (watch out for the horse and buggies!! :o )
Happy Holidays!!! :D :D
Merry Christmas!! :D :D
Happy Hunting!! :D :D
Tight Lines!! :D :D

RIDE SAFE!! EVERYONE!! :D :D :D

Aw, just move to California. You can ride all year. By the way, add one more big "Z" between the two little ones in Buzz and who is Sevesturus? :?

I came thiiiiiis close to going for a rip today.

It's been freaky weather this year. It was warm enough today to head out, but the roads are covered in frost.... :? My bike is sitting on 2 brand new tires and probably as slippery as they will ever be.... :? Screw it, I don't feel like sliding down the road, swearing loudly for Christmas....

:humm: maybe tomorow.......... :humm:

Aw, you're just lazy. All you have to do is fire up that big FJ 12, roll it onto the street, and hold the front brake lever while releasing the clutch with the throttle holding the tach at about 8000 RPM. Rock the bike back and forth a bit when the smoke starts pouring from that new rear tire and you'll have it nicely broke in in about 15 seconds.

That pic in your sig is an excellent illustration. 8)

Sevulturus. Sorry.
And BuzZz....
Almost went again today, but the wife took me down for the riding pants and had them gift wrapped!!!
Maybe Monday if the weather holds.
I met a guy from the local riding club today.
He invited me to the New Years ride to watch the polar bear club jump in the water. I just might go. :D

Geez buzz, I was out all yesterday and today. This is like summer time up here. I didn't see too many bikes yesterday, but there were a few out today. The only challenge was getting out of my alleyway, as it is completely covered with ice that never melts. Once on the roads though, it was fairly dry.
