I'm going to be in Calgary...

Coming up this February, I'll be in Calgary for almost two weeks. My daughter is giving me a grandchild for a birthday present and how could I refuse going and joining in the excitement. I'll probably be staying in the NW, not too far from Crowchild and Shaganappi. I would love to meet a few of the locals, although I won't have my bike... (probably a good thing in Feb...)

We'll have to see if we can put together a pub-night around that time....if I'm not on a sunny beach somewhere! Congrats on the grandkid, now do your job and spoil it rotten!

Well, timetables are a bit more firm, I'll be in Calgary from the 1st until the 15th. I'll be staying within walking distance of, Northland Village Mall which is just off Shaganappi Trl and Crowchild. If someone would like to meet for a coffee, or such, PM me and we can set it up. Although it will have to depend on when the grandchild comes along...

The weather has continued to be pretty nice this January, maybe we'll make it through February. If you could get the bike through the mountains it's entirely rideable, if a bit chilly...

the weather changing rapidly around here makes winter a tough one to plan for a ride anyway... you just take it day by day.. worse for me is I decided to leave my bike garaged at a friend's house this winter, as we were doing a little barter to get some stuff fixed up on the bike (lazy mechanic is my newest bad habit)... then he took a job up north for the winter working on the oil rigs or some such (good $$$$) and now i'll have to be more patient for mr.fix-it to get the bike back... arggh. oh well.

feel free to email (better than PM) if you wanna hook up and talk bikes, while in calgary...

The nerve of that girl, she went and had the baby yesterday afternoon. Mom and baby Evan are doing fine.... Looks like it's going to be a bit less stressed visit, lol. So it's official, I'm a Grampa...

Thanks, I have several people calling me Grampa like it's a bad thing, I'm totally stoked about it. Can't wait to get there and hold the little bundle in my arms...

Baby Evan is a bundle of joy, he is just the cutest little guy.

Calgary was a nice and warm 7 degrees when I arrived yesterday afternoon. A pleasant surprise. I have a vehicle at my disposal so getting around should be a lot easier.
