Two days after the first of winter and I'm riding

Well on the 21st, the first day of winter it was still a snow covered and dangerous place to ride (in my opinion). Snow and ice on the road and temps that would help keep ice from melting. The 22nd brough the first temps to exceed freezing, so I got out with the shovel and stared a path from the motorcycles to the road and dumped half a bag of salt.
On the 23rd we actually broke 40 and the path was clear to the dry and safe road. Both Loonette and I dug the batteries out of the basement, bundled up, and stretched our riding legs for the first time in almost two months. Wooohooo. Still some salt and sand on the road, but I took it easy.
Today, the 24th I went out again on an almost 50F day. It was not warm by any stretch. It was not comfy. I had to watch for chunks of snow and ice still and salt and sand ... but it was better to be out for a bit then not at all. What a great way for winter to show itself. Warmer temps and melting snow!
Thank the maker.
