Just wondering about that.
My daughter and I were disscussing it, and I couldn't answer her accurately.
Of 100% of riders, what % are women, anyone know?

Hi Joe, Thank you for all your help. It's Kai, AKA "clueless".
My wife wants to ride. She's hesitant to learn because of her experience with manual transmissions. She thinks the bike will stall and jerk if not shift correctly, like a car. The bike that your daughter rides looked like something she can handle.

Kai-lueless,
Yamaha makes a 125 cc (fourstroke) scooter with a better fork and brakes than the one my daughter rides, and it's under 3000 dollars. (Vino 125)-

There are several others made by Honda that offer fully automatic transmissions and can be bought used for way less than that....
....Start looking!

In our riding group there are probably 2 male riders for every woman rider. But them woman are hardcore and ride year round through the cold and wet. They have my respect.......
I doubt that this is anywhere near to what the actual percentage is. I would speculate that less than 20% of riders are women. Keep in mind though the the percentage of women riders is growing fast as the ladies become more aware.

Hi clueless,
Tell your wife that a year ago I had never driven a manual car either, but I took the MSF course and with a LOT of caution, I have learned to ride an 800. I stalled out a lot, but it comes easier than you think
