Duno about stock, but a little sand paper, primer, paint, and clear coat you've got one. Honda's Repsol CBR is orange. It is also an ugly color scheme, but a solid orange bike might not be so bad.

I just completely changed the color of my Katana from red to Metallic Black. Looks sharp I'll post pics later.

I used duplicolor rattlecan laquer paint & clearcoat and I believe they have orange too. Wetsand and buff-voila. It was some work but not really all that bad. Paint & clearcoat (3 coats each) cost me $37, but in retrospect I would have applied twice as much clear as I did. I got alot of good info from this blog too on how to paint.

Try it. Has a sharp learning curve but once you got it...

what is a good gas-proof or at least gas resistant clear coat. The duplicolor clear coats blows. even a small spill dissolves it.

+1 on that question. gas drops eat right through dupicolor clear.

Duplicolor has a more durable version of paint and clearcoat that isn't Car and SUV. I believe that is the type you need. It may be a little hard to find. Search this site for some paint threads and you'll get plenty of good info.

Possibly enamel might be what you need as well.

Good luck.

I used clear hi-temp engine enamel on my (gasp) engine :) and it's been good for 2 years and counting ... tho I won't mention what happened when I didn't notice a drop of brake fluid that spilled on it
