The Daytona 955 is an ok machine but as far as liter bikes go it is heavy and underpowered, the daytona to get is the new 675 it has more hp than the 955i and is I think the better of the 2 but the speed triple is the best of them all.

I can officially say I like the Speed Triple. A neighborhood noob came by the house today and asked me to ride his new triple. He didn't have to ask twice.

Apparently, he was concerned that there was something wrong with the steering or suspension because he'd dropped it in low speed turns twice in the past week. I wrung it out on a local mountain road and was impressed. Excellent brakes and suspension with gobs of hp all over the powerband. After riding it for 1/2hr. I determined that there was not a thing wrong with that bike. Turned out to be that the owner doesn't know the first thing about riding a motorcycle. Glad I got to ride it before the salvage man comes to take it away. This one is in the "Definitely not for noobs" category.

A noob on a Speed Triple? I shudder to think. What the heck, don't people read motorcycle reviews?

I have heard that the speed triple is a hooligans special. Supposed to be very easy to wheelie, and do other squidly things on.

I love the looks of the speed triple but am waiting until next year, there is supposed to be a 675 speed triple coming for 2007 to replace the speed four.

I rode the 1050 ST at the AMID show last year, this was Kyalami race track, one of the best we have in SA. Blew me away, it's as quick as anything you could want and very comfortable. Cornering was on rails and I was two up and giving it all. The speed triple is a little bitchy for me, squirms too much when you ask the questions.

I have to admit I do not know much about the sprint or sprint abs the only guy I know who has one his only gripe was seat gets to hot in traffic and to further that I was at the dealer this summer and the mechanics were kinda kidding but kinda not on who got to test out one they worked on for that same reason .I still bet it probably holds the road a little better than the triple but I think the triples position gives me a tad bit more control as I am more comfy in the upright rather than more cafe position of either the sprint or the clip on grips of the daytona

If you like the triple but want a bit more uumph and stability, have a look at the Kawa ZX12R.

the main reason I would want the 675 over the 1050 is its probably going to be several thousand cheaper. Hopefully it wont cost much more than the speed four (the speed four is/was a downright steal at the price they were selling it for). Plus the 675 nearly matches the 1050 in power anyway 123hp vs 130hp. Even 123hp is more power than I would ever need, I would be happy with 100hp from my next bike.
