Motorcycle Insurance.
Motorcycle Insurance.
Hey Guys.
Once again I`m facing a problem.
Tomorow I`m going to aply for my finance on my NINJA 250R.
In Florida, insurance is not required so I was wondering if I could get some kind of theft/robery insurance.
Just in case i get robbed...
Is this possible???
If so, What`s the price for a motorcycle insurance? (Both theft and total coverage)
Thanks again.

I don't know of any finance company that will loan money for a purchase without comprehensive coverage... to cover THEIR loss if you trash the bike (or should it get stolen).
Either you can find insurance on your own, or they'll provide insurance at a ridiculous rate.

The Lady is right as usual ... You need to contact your finance company. They will tell you what kind of insurance you need (most likely full coverage.)
You need to open up your phone book and start calling different insurance companies. The rate will vary between companies, but to get an idea of what you are looking at paying, www.progressive.com has an online quote system.
If you are getting a personal loan to cover the cost of the bike (You put up other collateral or it's an unsecured loan) Insurance is still recommended. If you hit someone or something on the street resulting in a lawsuit you will be damm glad you at least have liability...

It depends on what kind of financing it is. Some dealers have an 'in-store credit' kind of financing where it's more like a credit card than an auto loan...in that case they dont care what coverage you have. Based on comprehensive costs, that might be a better deal for you. Then again, if you are a brand new rider, it might be a good idea to get that extra coverage to cover you if you wreck it. Buying a brand new bike for 5k when you're just starting out may not be the best idea.
Question though...Florida doesnt even have liability requirements? That's scary.

I don't care where you live, a new bike and no insurance is a crazy idea... God forbid, but if you have an accident, can you afford to replace the bike??? I'd be hard pressed to get my forks straightened... How about if you hit someone??? Can you afford 1 to 2 million dollars for liability?
Insurance is just that... insurance to cover your a$$...

You guys made such gr8 arguments that i`ve checked a few companies for insurance...
It`s not going to be a big amount of money so i opted for full coverage.
Thanks again.
