Hello everyone

I haven't been on here since last April. In fact, I had to re-register...i forgot my username.

I had a 83 yamaha virago xv750....and was riding back in April and the engine locked up at 70mph, I stayed on the bike, but was pissed and scared after that happen, and didn't think about getting another bike for a while after. I still do not know to this day, why the engine locked up. 83 model? 22,000 miles....always new oil.. Anyways, I stayed away from Yamaha's after that

Bought a 96 Suzuki intruder vs800...and absolutely love the bike. Great quality, and from what i'm told..."run them like you stole them" They love to rev for a vtwin...and you do more damage lugging them. Several people on the intruder forum have went 50-60 up to 120K miles on the same engine w/o a rebuild. Anyways....i didn't have any tech questions....but this is where i knew a few of you all...

Anyways, this is my testimony....i'm not advertising...but highly recommend the intruder

Welcome back to the Community Kevin!

Glad to see that you got back on a bike and everything is going well for you. It's impossible to say why your old bike locked up, but being an 83 model it might have had something to do with your fuel being too lean from old carbs. (Pistons will gall and sieze if the bike is running too lean for an extended period of time)

Of course that's jusst a guess. Would have to take it apart for sure to find out. Anyway - welcome back!
