i went to the local blockbuster video here in our area. it's also where the under-used parking is located that im planning to practice on.
i was so excited and nervous. i took the routes that aren't busy streets to get there.
one thing though, when i was waiting to make a right turn. i made sure that all the cars heading the way im going are gone even if they're far away. i bet i annoyed the SUV behind me but i'd rather not take my chances.
at least, i was able to experience accelerating to 40mph and slowing down from it too.
1st trip outside...

Good work! Don't let other vehicles break your concentration or effect your thought process. SEE what you are doing and all will go well. Have fun practicing and don't be afraid to "push" your skills when you do practice. Make sure you come away with more knowledge and more skills after every session.

went outside again today.
i need a lot of work on take offs, my bike stalled several times at an intersection. i got so used to just letting the clutch go and once im moving, that's when i use the throttle. so now i need to practice a lot in good take offs w/ both clutch and throttle.
but im so happy! on my way home, there's a curve w/ a stoplight, i was on green... so i made a turn for it. all i kept in my mind was look at where i want to go, and i think the bike leaned.
YEY! my 1st attempt at cornering was a success.

Yup, dumping the clutch = dead bike. A lesson I learned in my MSF class.
You may already know this but I'm gonna say it anyways:
You need to find the friction zone on your clutch. That's where your bike is moving slowly forward and it's not stalling (kind of like an idle speed in a car when you have no brake or gas going).
When you hit that area it's safe to use some throttle to get going faster and let out the clutch when you get going and it'll be fine.

Have fun on the open /¦\
