Help rear drum brake to disc conversion!!!

#1 Unread post by Jacine »

I vaguely remember seeing a generic mod to convert the rear drum brake to disk. The caliper fit over the edge of the rear swing arm and the disk somehow bolted to the opposite wheel side. Now I can't find it.

Does anyone know of generic conversion kits.

Thanks.

Generic? Any conversion kit will have to made to fit a specific bike or group of similar bikes to work. There's too much variation between different models to make one kit fit everything. Often you need a different rear wheel/hub to bolt the disc onto.

That said, there are kits to retro-fit discs to many bikes out there. As you know, finding them is the real trick. Try doing a google search for the specific bike your looking at and checking aftermarket shops for a kit for your bike.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:
