Microwaves should work with TV's

Sigh...everymorning same thing...I turn on the microwave for some terrible junk frozen food, while I put on the TV and start boiling some water for tea and within 30 seconds BAM. All the electricty is out. Stupid fuse box, in the stupid old apartment!

Who else has funny little quirks around their apartment/home? If I turn on the computer while the TV is on then my bedroom looses power...I don't get it.

Everything in your place is on one circuit, probably, and when you fire up all the appliances at the same time, it exceeds the ampacity of the breaker, and it trips.

hmm,
Microwave ~ 800 watts
Kettle ~ 2000 watts
TV ~ 200 watts
= 3Kw. at 110 volts, that is 27 amps (which is rather a lot) most breakers go at around 30 amps... Solution = get a slower boiling kettle. :?

Just don't even try using a toaster and a kettle at the same time!

don't overload your circuits! you've got about 1750 watts on each 15 amp fuse. Share the wealth and spread out the load. Get your landlord to install another line.

Make sure you have a working smoke detector. - I'm a joker but not here. My wife and I and two of our friends are alive today because of a working smoke detector.
