Quick question about Honda Rebels.
Quick question about Honda Rebels.
Ok do they only come in a 250cc? It seems that everyone of them I find is a 250 and ads will just state a Honda Rebel without telling the engine size so I assume that it's assumed that you know it's a 250.

Currently yes.
I seem to recall that once upon a time there was a 450 though. My memory for this sort of thing is pretty bad.
I'd assume 250 though.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Define tall. I'm 5' 11"
I was trying to avoid them but if they can do highway speed (how easily are we talking about here? A guy in the dorms has one but I can never catch him to talk about it. I just see the bike there or gone) then I may reconsider my opinion of them.
I just assumed a 250cc cruiser wouldn't be very useful.

The first thing you should do is go to a motorcycle shop and sit on a Rebel. See if it fits you.
I am 5'9" with long legs and I found it too small. My knees felt like they were up to my chin.
When I was in the MSF class, they took away some of the friendly little Nighthawks that some had been using in the parking lot and put them on Rebels for the road riding portion of the class. That included going on the highway which would be 90kmh. I think that translates into 55mph.
There is a story here in the website somewhere about a rider's road trip on his rebel. I'll try to find it for you and post the link.....unless someone else can find it first.

I wish I could remember what I road in my MSF class. It was a Honda but I don't remember what it was.
I'll sit on one if I can find one (or if I can find that guy and he'll let me) but the dealers here in town only have Ninjas and SVs and other sport bikes. Not many cruisers in the dealerships, gotta buy em used.
Though there is a Honda dealership that I haven't visited yet (had no reason to). Surely they'd have one. Maybe on monday.

I'm 5'8" and a bike that size fits me pretty good. I don't know how much a difference 3 inches will make, but don't let someone tell you it'll be to small till you've tried it yourself.

It may have a lot to do with leg length. That's why I suggested he go sit on one. And if he reads the story he'll have a good idea of what it can do.Sevulturus wrote:I'm 5'8" and a bike that size fits me pretty good.
