I have a 05 ninja zx6r and I have a problem... I laid it down about 3 months ago cause of a malfunction with the bike and I need to find some people who have had the same problem as I. The malfunction was the throtle stuck on me as I was leaving work. I realy don't remember anything from the accident but from what the witnesses said that I grabed the throtle with bothhands just as I hit the dip and went airborne across 4 lanes of traffic and hit a tree. I was lucky I walked away from this with a broken arm and a fractured C1. I need to know if there is anyone out there haveing problems or had problems with there bikes. This isa serious issue that needs to be delt with. I have found one person so far who has crashed cause of this and is now Paralized. I don't want this to happen to anyone else, Please let me know....

I've had a frozen throttle cable on a couple of occasions, just used the clutch to disengage the drive.

I'm just asking but what do you do after you disengage the clutch? If the throttle is stuck and you only disengage the clutch, I would think you would redline your bike very soon, so do you just hit the killswitch to the engine?

Yes! As well as coming to a stop without hitting anything.

Pull in the clutch if that ever happens again, then kill the engine and slowly come to a stop at the side of the road! Glad to hear you are okay, but I think with some lessons learned you can avoid this ever happening again. The most important thing I think is not to panic, you probably tried to force the throttle back with both hands which made you lose your balance and throw the bike across the road.

What they said, clutch in, kill switch, smooth on both brakes and look where you want to end up.

Also, might be the air box...

When my airbox was in terrible condition, my throttle would have problems returning to it's home position. Bought a new airbox on eBay for $6, replaced my old one, and now it rarely sticks.

When it happened to me it happened so fast... I don't even remember anything from the accident..
