I'm not as neurotic as some gear junkies , but what he's wearing is just asinine for what he's doing.

That is freaking crazy. I wonder how people do that, but I never plan to learn it, I would brake too many bikes and probably myself too. I have lots of respect for their skill, as long as it is off busy streets.

Indian Larry never wore gear, so what's good for Indian Larry is good enough for .... umm... the ER. Larry died doing the old surfer trick. A standard, no big deal trick took out one of the best known stunt chopper dudes. These guys look cool, but I think the graveyard is full of cool people too. I guess if I would have started riding when I was very young I might have been much wilder. Fun to watch these guys though. The only time you'll see me do a trick is when I take off from an occasional light with the clutch popped a bit hard and the gas a bit too much.

My Grand-daddy, who was a very wise man, used to say: "They ain't locked up all the nuts yet."
He was right.

Ok, I am impressed by the skill some of these stunt riders have - I've been riding for 24 years now and would never dream of attempting half the stuff these guys so effortlessly perform. But the lack of proper gear on this "stunt god" makes me wonder just how invincible he thinks he is. Like scan said, Indian Larry paid the ultimate price while performing a routine stunt... you never know when your number is up, but taking the proper precautions at least extends your punchout date.

let me elaborate on what is "cool"
wearing proper gear.
riding sensibly and not trying to impress people who dont care anyway.
arriving home alive.
