i have a doctor's appointment for a re-check.
it's not so far, i can take side streets to get there. but 2 things im worried about.
1. im gonna ride through an underpass.
- im probably over-estimating the steepness of this slope but i have no experience yet on slopes so im kinda worried if get i stopped there bec of traffic.
2. parking.
- im gonna be gone for a while since even if i arrive on time, they don't see me right away. so im worried about leaving my bike all alone in parking lot.
should i go for it?

yes. Only one way to learn about hills, ride em. And at some point ya gotta just hope and pray that your bike wont get messed with.

PS. park the bike far away in a corrnor or, if there is a guardhouse for the parking lot, park within view of that.

cool. if you do get stuck on the hills dont worry. Its not all that hard. You got im sure, just sit on the back brake, let the clutch in and when you feel it start to catch release the brake and give it the gas. Of course easyer said than done but oh well. Have fun

If you are taking out into the greate wide open its time to think about Security - what are you using?

nothing, just the built in handle bar lock and ignition lock system that came w/ the bike. whoever tries to move my bike will just be moving in circles.
if i already have these, should i still invest in something like a wheel lock?
but then even w/ a wheel lock, if they really want it, they can lift it up to a truck as my friend said.

All I've done is invest in insurance, I'm not going to hassle with locks and all when I go out. If I lived in an apt. or something and didn't have a garage, I may invest in more.
ps, I see you made it home. If I lived out your way I'd help you learn to ride. I hope you find someone over there to help you get the experience you need soon.

In LA I would look into an alarm for your bike. It goes off if someone messes with your bike

yeah, i made it home, i've been outside for several times now but this is the farthest i've gone so far.
i got some good training yesterday from people on a diff forum. but they live far from me so i can't reguraly attend their monthly skillz training. they were just kind enough to visit me here in my area.
i do hope i find a regular sportsbike riding buddy soon. i need someone to take me as their apprentice.
i'll look into alarms, is lojack a good idea too? it's kinda expensive and im not sure how great they are.
my bike is always parked in our garage so it's not so bad at home and we live in a gated condo complex.
