Honda Interceptor: Live up to the hype?

Hello everyone on my new favorite website! Back yet again with another question.

Can someone give me their thoughts on the Honda Interceptor. Given my stats and location: 6'1, 230lbs, New York City riding (though I get away to Connecticut and places where open-road riding is much more available).

Is this bike all that the magazine & online reviewers crack it up to be? Claimed to be the perfect combination of sportbike, touring, and commuter bike I am pretty interested in checking a few out.

Prior to this I was pretty dead set on my bike being Honda's CBR600 F4i. Any comparison of the two or information from riders with personal experience with either is as usual greatly appriated.

While I appreciate new suggestions, I am most interested in learning more about these two specific bikes so that I can begin to put in order the bikes I will consider purchasing.

Don't know what I would've done without the help of this site. You guys are great!

Amazing bike!

I came from an F4. The Viffer has more power and much more comfort!

Hmmm...That's a sweet bike...but uh, correct me if I'm wrong... aren't you looking for a 'first' bike? Not for nothing, regardless of your size, unless you've got some experience under your belt I doubt many here will find your initial bike choice the best decision you could make given all the information available here.

It seems as if you're fishing for an endorsement of a 600. Again, if I'm wrong and I have misread earlier similar posts in other threads, feel free to ignore this post as the nonsensical ramblings of blithering idiot. However, if memory serves me correctly and you're dead-set on a 100+hp bike as your first I wish you all the luck in the world.
