...as a first bike.
The moto guide on this site lists it as 80 bhp. But weren't the testing standards from back then a lot more lax on how you tested and how the power was actually measured? Or am i just trying to justify a 80 hp bike as my first road bike? Though it's only $750 and i think i'm going to just say damn the hp and get it. Anyone have any info or experiance with one of these things?

FYI it's my first road bike, but i've been riding a dirtbike this past season, so i'm thinking "grey area". Yes i did take MSF and got my motorcycle endorsment for my license.

Sounds like a near twin to a nighthawk 700.

The 80hp number is probably very optimistic knowing the test standards at the time.

From everything I have heard the nighthawk 700s were actually pretty forgiving and not too tough to learn on.

You might want to ask Zootech about this, he had a nighthawk 700 before he got his mean streak.

I think you'll be o.k. with that bike. Good price if the bike is in decent shape. If it is and you like the feel of it, grab it.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

If the bike is in good shape, it should be an excellent choice for you. If you do get it, and need advice on any issues, try this site:

Yayy! Good news, the guy knocked the price down to $650 cause he broke the choke cable and a blinker. And he also wants to buy my dirtbike or do a straight trade. Going to look at it tomorrow, hopefully get there before another guy that called.
