Took my beloved Angie out for a ride in the sidecar today (ride report will be posted by tomorrow aft on my website), we went to the local Harley dealer so I could check on my Superglide that's been waiting patiently in storage since November. While I was busy visiting with my bike and then answering numerous questions about the Ural, she disappeared into the sales office and emerged 1/2 hour later with a tentative smile on her face. She'd just filled out the paperwork to trade her '01 Kawi Vulcan 800 Classic in for a brand new '06 Softail Deluxe! Another 45 minutes later the answer came back from Harley Financing - it was approved. She has been bouncing around, singing and giggling ever since. :D

Pass along my congrats. Nice bike. Rode one on a demo day. The counter-balanced engine is the way to go IMHO. Did she opt for EFI or go with carbs?

EFI. She popped out from the sales office halfway through the paperwork to ask my opinion on carb vs fuel injection and - having owned a carbed FLHT and now an EFI Superglide - a fuelie is the way to go IMO.

Very nice - she's a keeper. My wife won't sit on anything bigger than her Rebel.

Nice job and congrats on all levels, having a new motorcycle in the family & on the other half wanting to buy it!

And I thought I was doing well to get mine to ride on the back

Ohh YES!

Way to go there Mate!

The Deluxe is a real nice choice & looks great to boot...

Now you may even get to choose which bike to ride when the missus is not in riding mood! (If that's possible?)

Small steps, Mustang, small steps. You never know, some day she might surprise you by taking the MSF course.

That's not a problem, she's always let me use her car and her bike whenever the mood strikes me. The issue this time is her paint scheme - she wants to ruin that beautiful black finish by putting a pink rose on each side of the gas tank. Kinda makes me reluctant to be seen on it even though I am secure in my own masculinity. Might have found the solution already, though - magnetic tank decals to cover the roses!
