Search on this -- you'll find something.
A lot of people have been stuck between these two. After hitting the bike show, it came down to between these two for me as well.
The Aero is nice, and with a Honda engine, you know you can't go wrong. It's also liquid cooled -- might be a plus over the star depending on your perspective. The riding position is a little more upright on this over the Star, also. A nice ride -- seems a bit bulkier than the Star. It is priced a couple grand above the star, I believe.
The Star is a nice package and also quite popular. I've never read a magazine review that 's negative about it. It is air cooled, but the engine is reviewed by many as being bullet proof. It's also a bike that has plenty of aftermarket support -- you can literally rip this thing apart and customize it a million ways quite easily.
Just my opinion, of course, but I chose the Star. I liked the midnight black package they offered, wanted to keep my costs down, and I like the Custom package over the bulkier Aero model (but if you were looking at the Classic; doesn't matter). Overall, this bike's look and feel suited my personality more. I've already got new pipes, hypercharger, grips, end caps and forward controls on it. I'm happy. I knew I wanted to at least replace the air kit, pipes, grips, mirrors, grips, controls and seat. Keeping in mind those costs, I went with the cheaper bike and have no regrets.
Go with your gut, and don't look back. They're both great machines. One suits you more, only you know which one that is.

Is one "better than the other"? Well, I believe that is subjective. You need to go and sit on both bikes and see how each one fits. Both are very dependable so it comes down to ergos and aesthetics.

Hmmm. Now that I look at my product line books; is the Aero even offered in 06?
