my helmet

i was at a friends house earlier today,

i had my helmet on top of my head, my head wasn't in it, i was just holding it on top of my head and all of a sudden, one of my friends pushed me causing the helmet to pop out of my hands and fall on the floor (which was just bricks) no carpet, no nothing.

this "incident" ruined my day. i feel like i just dumped my bike.

it was a $650 helmet,

anyway....i know that a helmet is good for only one drop.....but is there anyway to find out if it's broken or not?

also, i have progressive (insurance) .....anyone know if theyd pay for it?

make your friend pay for it.

if your friend doesn't want to, then... :2guns: :shooting: :shooting2:

seriously, that sucks.

I am not sure I would risk seeing if my helmet is serviceable when you crash for real. I would just go by an hjc or kbc helmet, save yourself a chunk of change and a few brain cells, just in case.

You can send the helmet back to the manufacturer... most of the name companies will do a free inspection after a drop.

Its worth it to them rather than have you risk getting killed because there was no way to check.

And, no they will not automatically say its unsafe, just to get more money out of you.

take it to an urget care facility, or a dentists office might be cheaper

That's what I was thinking, though dentists generally only have smaller x-rays (your mouth is smaller than your body but so is your helmet) but it should cover your helmet.

Lol yah, put your helmet on that little conveyor thing and ask if you can watch it go through.
