little report

The conversation went like this,
Kymco sales manager " sorry Paul really, the decision was made at the top to only carry one colour for SA, the sales do not warrent us keeping stock in the country of more than one colour, so no white but we can do you a silver, let me see what dealers have what and then give you a ring."
They called today and told me there was a very good condition demo model at a dealer close to me, would I like to take a look. Indeed I did and indeed I bought it. Couple of scratches and only 660kms on the clock, first service done and balance of warrenty. Good deal.
I had only had a ride around the block on one before and now face a hectic 50km ride home in peak traffic. OK I can do this, the Goose is following, I know it is not a SBK but I have been assured it will do 130kmh so lets go.
Gentle away from the dealership, couple of robots, everything OK up to 70 so far, brakes feel good, now for the on ramp to the highway, twist that wrist and Whooaa, there is so much more there than I expected. 70 to 120 is just a twist, the CVT transmission just works. So now I am comfy and settle into the traffic rythem. As you do, you play as you go, this thing will do 140 on the clock, no problem. I am amazed at how stable it is, how well the little screen works, how confident I am in the brakes,(disk front and back) and how well that 250 motor is responding.
This is great, and I suddenly realise somthing else, I am way higher than my BMW, I can see for miles over the tops of the cars and can plan well ahead. There is a steep section so I pull over to let the faster cars go by, and then have to pull out again because the cars are slowing down and I am going faster than them.
By the time I get home I am well pleased with this and know that tonight I am going to have a fight on my hands. I do live with two females who love to ride.
