you might have noticed i have alot of problems with my 96 Seca II. thats if your check out the maintanace part of the forum. now im moving up. i think it would be better; cost effective, and overall need to buy a new engine. i tried looking on a few site including dealer sites, but i can find "crate" engines or new engines for motor cycles besides choppers. i really would prefer new over used out of a yard, any ideas on a company or anything that has new street bike engines. also custom mounts for engines not OEM?

i pretty much want a new bike, at a fraction of the cost. im broke, what can i say...

Get a new bike.

Unless you're pretty handy with engines, It'll probably be cheaper to get a different used bike, and auction the seca on e-bay in bits (ie, switch gears, brake discs, calipers, etc)

I agree with Niblett.Probaly best to sell it and move on.

Best to move on and get a different bike. And as stated, part out the bike on ebay. That's where I shop for my parts.

I tend to agree with the others, but if you're determined to get another engine, I think used is most likely your only choice. If you can't do the work yourself, there's no question that fixing your bike will be more expensive than getting another used one. I know of an engine for sale from an 85 FJ 600. The claim is that it's a good engine with 12,000 miles on it. The FJ engine has about 12 more horses, too and it's a direct bolt-in to the Seca. PM me if you're interested, I'll put you in contact with the guy.

Sorry Toyuzu. It's a totally different slant on the cylinder block. It won't fit......

Doh! That's right - I forgot those Secas have that forward slant. I've always read the engines are the same except the cams and the combustion chamber design.

I thought anything over 20 years is an antique.
