Well last year one of the rides we went on was from nw jersey to rhinebeck ny to the aerodrome what a trip. The route we opted for was not direct but hey I realy do not care much for the freeway can't see much. We went up ny 42 and skirted the Ashokan res. to 209 n to Kingston crossed over and right into 1917 the aerodrome is something else. They had the red barons plane a sopwith camel and if you get there early enough or reserve a doublewinger ride over the hudson. To top it all off they had a 1915 or so Indian which I started left hand throttle and all and a royal enfield sidecar and a few whizzers and a renault ww1 tank if ya got the time thats the place for a summers ride if your within a day or weekend heck even if your not you would love it. They have an air show and a mueseam as well. The Ride home was just as fun as another guy led along the Hudson and some of gods finest sights. OH JUST WRITING THIS IAM GETTING THE HAIRS UP ON THE BACK OF MY NECK!!!!!!!!!!

One of my favorite drives used to be NY 22, which runs east of Rhinebeck, and follows just west of the Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont borders all the way up. I haven't been there since the late 1980's, hope it hasn't changed too much. Never thought of it before, but it would make a great motorcycle ride.

Rhinebeck NY is a great ride. A lot to see on the route up and back.
Checkout my posted ride to West Point for just a few.
BTW: A good solo ride too.
