Alpinestars or Revit Jacket

#1 Unread post by Randy95 »

Think I have narrowed my jacket choice down to two possible

Leather
Alpinestars One o One Jacket Vented Leather CE rated protection in elbow and shoulder. Back pad

textile
Rev'it Airflow Jacket brushed 500D cordura, A.I.R. airflow reinforced mesh Knox® KFP 1 CE-protection in elbow and shoulder area. back pad

Anyone have experience with either of these?

Leather is cool, most fabrics are not

I mean cool as in coolio. I've go a Tourmaster completely perforated black leather jacket, in addition to vents. It has an insulated liner for warmth that zips out. It looks great and is fine for all but the very coldest and hottest weather. For really hot weather I've got a mesh Speedrag jacket that includes a very thin zip out perforated nylon liner. I can't wait to try it out ... maybe in June.

Find a jacket that has a zipper for attaching a pair of pants. You may one day want to buy the pants to go along with the jacket. :D

I've got the Rev'It Motion Jacket - with goretex and quilted 'warm' liners. Its my 'winter riding jacket.

LOVELOVELOVE the jacket!!!

Yup. Its pricey, but it will last a long time and it fits amazingly. Lots of great features, like a collar snap that slides.

The CE rated armor is like the armor that literally saved my skin two summers ago... another feature that cannot be ignored.

I've got a Teknic Lightning jacket myself. fits great and has armor in the shoulders, elbows, and forearms. Just hoping its not too hot in the summer. its not a perforated leather
