I've been looking for a bike for a long time. I want a '03-'05 Honda CBR 600 and I've found quite a few. Most are in the blue book price range, but there are quite a few (especially on ebay) that are going for $3000 or less. These guys want you to "buy it now" and they don't want to go through ebay. Is this all just a big scam?

Anyone who has some advice, I would really appreciate it...Thanks

You get one or more of the following:
1) 1/16th inch die cast replica
2) nothing
3) screwed out of your $$

Aside from whether it's a scam, it's just not a good idea to buy a used bike that you haven't physically checked out.

Question: Will this be your first bike???

no, i sold my vulcan last year. i have a couple of friends who have been letting me borrow theirs. one has a cbr 600 and one has a harley. I know exactly what i can spend and when i see those bikes "selling" for $3000, i wish i could buy one knowing that it was decent. but, i've also been smart enough to wonder if it had to be a scam of some kind.

thanks everyone for your help

what about ebay? you wouldn't buy one from ebay either? i'm pretty rural and don't have a lot for sale around me.

If the bike is local and you can look at it first hand then e-bay is okay. Otherwise how are you going to get it to you? How do you know that it'll start? How you don know it'll get into gear? Etc Etc Etc.

It's a waste of money more then likely to buy something you cannot see considering how much can be wrong with it.

I don't know how anyone can buy a bike without seeing it close up, hearing it run, etc.

Crazy.
