tr25w trophy

HI all, newbie here, enjoying the site..recently acquired a nonrunner trophy 250, but in reasonable nick..coupla questions if anyone can help, would be appreciated..any owners club for these things..info scarce on the net, seems they aren't everyone's cuppa tea!
Will modern 20w 50 motorcycle oil be ok?
Points / timing setup ??..she aint running, would be nice to hear the noise
..
Noticed the gearlever has stripped the gearshaft splines..big job to replace the shaft??
Left the bike leaning to the right overnight..impressive pool of oil on floor in the morn..any ideas where from??
Electronic ignition..best to fit it right away..what type??..heard of Boysen??
Read somewhere its advisable to fit an oil filter..whats that all about??
Any other tech books for this old dear, other than Triumph workshop manual..Haynes don't seem to do one..
Want to paint the tank and mudguards a pretty wine colur I've seen on a few pics on the web..any ideas what paint codes for this ??
Finally..are these reasonably reliable once up and running??..any stuff in particular to watch out for..
