dealer trip.

saw a bunch of GS500Fs there... they look so small but why does it weigh 30lbs more than my bike?

saw a red ducati, i think it was 999... it looks goods, the front looks like it can shoot lasers. :laughing:

they have a bunch of R1s, i wasn't impressed by the R1s.

they also have a lot of ninjas from 250 to ZX10 i believe... i wasn't too impressed either.

the CBRs look good though.

saw some huge @$$ touring bikes. one look and automatically said to myself "i'll drop that faster than paris hilton'll drop her underwear."

i was hoping to see a teknic violator 1 pc suit to try it on, but they don't have any.

they also don't have any wrap around knee sliders.

oh well, i got what i came for, i exchanged and got my correct owner's manual.

One reasone the GS500 is heavier than your bike is because it isn't designed towards racers and speed demons. With your gixxer, they deliberately take off un-needed weight, so it will go faster.

GS500 also carries its weight lower, so it's not as top heavy. Easier to balance.

That is actually quite annoying for someone tall. It feels like the seat is down by my knees when it starts to tip over (exaggeration, but whatever). I would prefer something with the weight up closer to the inside of my thighs; I think then I wouldn't have so much trouble working the bike around when I'm standing over it.

Naw it's nice, the bike is the same height, but the heavy stuff is down at the bottem of the frame as opposed to the top. This means it's less top heavy and likely to tip over. Makes it more user friendly, but it affects the cornering ability somewhat. I think you confused what I said a little, I didn't mean the bike was shorter, just where on the bike the heaviest stuff is.

All in all, unless you're looking for the fastest bike around I think putting the weight lower in the frame is better.

Wow...I didn't know the GS was the same height as the gixxer :confused:

I understand what you meant though. I'm just saying as my personal preference, I would rather have most of the weight up higher. Then again that's when I'm not moving, or walking the bike out of parking places etc.
The dirt bike I rode was like that. Really high center of gravity (also a really tall bike in general). Was a lot easier for me to control than my bike (then again it was a lot lighter too)...lol I'm just second guessing myself...I'll stop now :laughing:

The less can actually be said to apply to the entire sentence. But it's all the same to me.
