Front Brake Question

Well, we warmed up a little bit today and I pulled my Harley FXD out and gave it a good cleaning and waxing. As I was putting it away I noticed that the front brake has started moaning/squeeking (while braking). It's not your typical high pitched squeel, bit a medium pitched moan. It squeels moving forward as well as backward, but only while it's engaged.

As I was cleaning things I wiped down the front rotor with a damp cloth. I'm almost positive there was nothing on it except maybe some water. No wax at all... of this I am positive.

Is this anything to be concerned about? Did I screw something up by wiping the rotors down? Is there anything I can look for to see what potential issues might develop?

Thanks

Mike

Spray it down with brake cleaner just to be sure. You didn't mess up hte rotor by wiping it with a cloth. Curious though, when was the last time the brake fluid was changed?

I'm not sure when it was changed, I got it used. It just had it's 5000 Mile service tho.

It should be changed every two years. I use Valvoline synthetic. As for the noise, you may just want to ride it again to see if it persists.
