MSF in NJ

Let me give a small preface to my “problem” (which isn’t really too much of a problem.) I just graduated from college and was accepted to law school for next year so I am going to have some free time between now and august, so I thought it would be a great time to learn to ride since I have always wanted to. I took the first step and went to find a MSF course; this is where my problem is. I looked on the official website and couldn’t find a single location that is with in an hour or so drive, while this is not the end of the world I would like to avoid a long drive for obvious reasons (gas, sleep, etc). I asked my friends who ride and took it where the class they took was, one took it in NYC (but he is a NY resident I am not), one took it about an hour away, and the other said there was one in the community college (Morris County) about 20-30 mins up the road, but it is not listed on the site and he only took it last year. I tried googleing it but to no avail , so my question is this, is there a secret section or some such that lists more courses…I just cant imagine them eliminating the only local class since my friend took it just last year, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think the MSF courses have to register with the list, that the list isn't updated unless that particular school wants on it. Not positive but that's the impression I got.
Even if you did have to take it an hour up the road, you could always get a motel for the weekend or so.
Or heck, just drive.

MSF schools get evaluated and are able to lose their certification.
In fact, the training facility where I took my MSF 2 years ago was an MSF school when I took my classes, but they aren't MSF-certified anymore.
So, sadly, it is possible that the place your friend took his training might be gone, even though it's only been a year.

That is just a little disappointing, so if there is no longer a school nearby, the closest one is actually in NYC. I could hop a train and be there in 20mins...but I am a NJ resident and I don’t know if a NY class would let me qualify in NJ (in terms of accepting it as my license test)? I will have to check into it tomorrow, if they will let me use a NY class here is the garden state then I guess that is my best option, if not looks like I need to go for a nice drive south.
