Hi all,

So is it at all realistic to wear perforated leather in south california in the summer? (As in you won't sweat like a pig and/or die of heat exhaustion?)

thanks,

Eugene

I wear full leathers and a fullface helmet everytime I ride, year round, in SoCal. My leathers are a preforated Frank Thomas Strike Suit.

It's totally comfortable. The only time it gets hot is sitting still at a stoplight on those 90 degree and up days. Otherwise, I'm fine. As long as you are moving, the air circulation is VERY good. Actually, layering-up on cold winter nights is more of an issue than overheating in the summer.

Then again, everyone has their own individual tolerances for heat and cold. Personally, I love the heat, so it takes a lot to make me uncomfortable in it.

i hate the heat. evenn though i came from a country that's can get as hot and humid as florida. i never got used to it and it always bothers me.

anyway... haven't experience summer on a bike yet but my jacket is the 1stgear fuel, it's a hybrid tex/leather w/ good vents and a removable thermal liner. i love it.

On the hot days, I wear a Joe Rocket mesh jacket. Cool, but protected.

I've got a completely perforated leather Tourmaster Cortech jacket. I'm here inthe Portland metro area, and on the hottest summer days...lets say 85 plus then I've been a little too warm in it. That's why I bought a Speedrag Bonechiller mesh jacket... I hope to ride in hot weather.
