So after nearly 3 months of downtime I finally got my 82 GS750 on the road today.

That was a bit hellish getting it to run right again. This is my 4th ignition module, which coupled with a new battery, coil and a bunch of aesthetic mods have made a pretty nice bike.

It's been a lot of waiting for parts too. The coil showed today too late for bike week (as I've mentioned repeatedly).

So I pulled it out of the garage today, cranked it for a good full minute with it sputtering away, then ROOOAAAR! It lit up! Woohoo! I put ten miles on it today and those were ten fantastic miles.

So the question is: whats the longest you've had a dead bike before resurrecting it? I know mine probably seems like a pittance, particularly to your northerners who have that horrific winter weather.

Great pic of a great bike!

I bought a basket-case BSA, once. Took several months to get it roadworthy, but it was worth every minute. I learned a lot about bike mechanics on that old beast, as you might imagine!

Sweet ride !
Keep it lookin nice and I bet it gets more attention than any modern sportbike!

I pulled a Seca 650 out of a junk yard (The bike I'm riding today) God only knows how long it was down, but it took me 3 weeks to get 'er running. (And at least 6 months to get perfect)

Thanks for the compliments! Its definitely on its way with the mods. I dropped it a bit in the back (for the sake of my short legs), yanked the huge turn signal stalks at the fronts and rears, replaced them in the front with flush mounts on the headlight brackets, and integrated the rear signals into the tail light, which I'm custom building and making the lens for.

I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the color. I'm also very likely to paint the wheels all black. Maybe I'll take a vote, eh?

Colour looks good. Is that the original colour or a custom job of your own?
