Every once in a while i'll do it and I hate it. Whats the best way to get rid of scuff marks on the muffler? Im tempted to use on of those scubbing pads from the kitchen but im afraid to scratch the muffler.

When in a scuff, buff.

I have no idea if you can buff it out but I just wanted to say that first part.

Those green scotch type kitched pads will scratch chrome badly, don't use. I've always used the SOS or Brillo steel wool with soap pads for cleaning chrome. Cleans off rust, boot scuffs, etc without scratching chrome. Has worked for me for over 20 years, I ride year round in NE OH and there's always some spring rust cleanup from the salt water bath.

For me, I use a soft cloth and blumagic metal polish. It took out a lot of stuff, and cleaner up the chrome something nice.
