Trailering the 2006 1800 Goldwing

Can anyone advise the safestway to secure the wing on a trailer, where to attach straps, should the centre stand be down or up. I am planning on leaving for Florida fom Ontario on Friday and would appreciate any feedback

Don't know where the good tie-down pionts are(the bars are good if you can attach them without fouling any controls or rubbing against the fairing), but when you do find them, don't leave the side or centerstand down. Suck the forks down about halfway with the tie-downs and run a couple of tiedowns to the rear of the bike to keep it from bouncing around, no need to crank the rear tie-downs too hard. It's best to have some sort of device to keep the front wheel from being able to turn or slip from side to side.

The crashbars should be ok, as long as you can trap the front wheel. If the bike is free to rotate on the steering head, it will... but probably not until your a few miles down the road. Then your tie-downs will pull the bike down and to one side, and a 800 lb bike will put alot of stress on itself in this position.

Don't leave home without
one of these. They cinch up on the handlebars when you tighten the racheting straps and that sucker
won't budge!

20 years ago my father hauled a Wing to Arizona in a pick-up using tie straps to the crash-bars. I don't recall anything to hold the fornt wheel in place though...

Do they make Canyon Dancers long enough for Gold Wings? I have got some canyon dancers for my F4i, they work great. I would recommend a front wheel chock too
