World Superbike starts this weekend.

At the time of posting this, both races are over in Qutar! They will be shown on Speedtv tomorro (Feb. 26) at 10am 'till noon (mountain time). The series should be picking up again with most of the major manufacturers fielding teams to some degree. Set the VCR!

Noice! DVR set to record, thanks for the heads-up!

FYI 10 AM mountain time is 12 noon EST for those who are too lazy to convert it

Bumping is racing and I thought it was pretty clean and the crash was just an unfortunate incident. I assume that you were happier with race #two? :P

My take:
Bayliss is the fastest rider out there. The Ducks have struggled ever since the fours were bumped up to 1000cc, but the tires are playing the great equalizer(being the limiting factor). You could see the fours fading by the end of the race and Bayliss used every last ounce of that to his advantage.
My favorite rider still to watch: Nori. He plays hard and sometimes it all goes bad(race one). I REALLY miss the sideways Nori of old. That style of riding has been lost to traction control (they won't all admit it, but it is there), and perhaps the Pirellis.
This season looks like it could be a good one, if they could just lose the village idiot announcers. They were so far off what was happening at times trying to sensationalize things to the max that I wondered if we were even watching the same race. I actually had to mute it for a while....

These superbikes almost look slow and tame next to the Moto GP bikes.

Race 1 sure was exciting. The last lap was unbelievable, and the cartwheeling bike toward the beginning was unreal.

But they do "look" slower than I remember, there was not much squirrelly action during those races. Anyhoo, it inspired me to go out for a COLD ride.
