Most annoying stereotype

I wondered if everyone would chime in on what they think is the most annoying stereotype. Now really I'm refering to motorcycle related stereo types - like Harley guys are grease balls, or sportsbike guys have a death wish - but if you have one outside of motorcycles like - blondes are dizzy, or Buzz is always so stoned - those would be fine.

So... now that I layed out the idea, I'll start.

I hate when someone assumes I have no regard for safety because I ride a "crotch rocket". As a matter of fact, I don't like someone calling my bike a crotch rocket in the first place. I have had so many people come up to me and tell me the story about their dead uncle or mamed neighbors son because these machine are so dangerous.

I basically ignore them and express my love of the "hobby" and that I always treat my bike with the respect it deserves.

1) what a crotch rocket is
2) what kind of bike I ride.

being grouped in with them dam car mechanics.i have been 18 wheeler mechanic for 44 years.anytime someone asks "what do you do for a living"and i reply i am a truck mechanic they say "ooohhhhhh"then proceed to tell me how their friend was cheated so bad by some car mechanic that he had to use the daughters college money to pay the bill resulting in the daughter becoming a "crack ho".i aint got nothing to do with cars.

When I used to have long hair (trying to grow it back out right now actually) I got really tired of people assuming I do drugs.

It was funny at first, but it got tiresome after a while. Oh and I look like a stoner too (facial expressions), that doesn't help. In fact my doctor, in a physical, asked me if I did any drugs. I replied 'no' and he kind of looked at me with an arched eyebrow and goes 'You know anything you tell me is condfidential and I won't tell your parents?'

sorry, but I have too many personal instances of cops abusing power for me to stop telling these stories. Luckily for you though, I just bash the UCF police, as they are far too bored and far too stupid for anything less.

Oh, and can't forget the "Jaywalking" at 3am, in a 20mph zone ON CAMPUS, coming back from CAMPUS SPONSORED ACTIVITIES, with no cars on the road. They must have seen the event going on, because they were HIDING IN THE BUSHES!!???!!

They do fun things like try to arrest you for carrying university sponsored engineering projects (because according to them, anything that shoots or launches anything, is automatically a firearm, I know my marshmallow launcher was a real hazard!!). Not to mention, the attempted ticket for "loitering"... we were sitting on the grass ON A SOCCER FIELD, catching our breath AFTER SOCCER PRACTICE. I say attempted ticket, because once he ran my ID, they probably got the flag of the pending legal action against them from my friend and myself (from the earlier attempts to hold us overnight for an engineering project, which resulted in some "O Ring" kissing by their boss once our lawyers actually showed up... they tried to force us out of the door before the lawyers got there.. HA! Nice try "Donut Holes").

Then there was the whole "I think I'm gonna go undercover to bust underage drinking at a football tailgate and not notify the Orlando Police Department (the real police with jurisdiction at the stadium), and then I will pull my gun and fire it into the air, thus causing the OPD officer to shoot me in the back and kill me." Very sad situation, but what do you expect to happen when you "go around" the local law enforcement just so you can bust some punks, whilst waving a gun around?

Anyways, I hate the stereotype where the Cops think just because someone is a college student, that they automatically did something wrong, or have been drinking.

I can’t help but chime in about the police as well (bearing in mind my dad was a cop for 27-years). It is best to avoid broad generalizations, but we are talking about stereotypes here so…cops are free game. My experiences with the Highway Patrol in particular reaffirm my belief that law-enforcement is, for the most part, a revenue generator for local and state government and nothing else. If you’re running late for work, you can count on the Highway Patrol to be there to collect $110.00, but if your cousin flips his car over with you in it, subsequently landing on the roof in a ditch, and you’re so close to the Highway Patrols’ sub-station that you can SEE THEIR RADIO TOWER, they will promptly respond to the crash (which was called in by cell phone within a minute) about an HOUR later, will not offer to call an ambulance (or do so by default) and will proceed to treat you like dodo. And, if that wasn’t bad enough, my cousin and I were both minors at the time.

My most recent experience with local police was also infuriating. It was last winter, and the plows came through my apartment complex and packed the snow next to where I park. The only way I could get my car in was to angle it so it was about 30-degrees from the curb. It stayed parked like that for about a week because I was driving my van. Then one day I was at work, and the temperature rose into the forties and melted the snow while I was away. When I returned home that evening, I had a parking ticket on my car for “Failing to park parallel to the curb”. Keep in mind this happened in a secluded apartment complex, not some residential street downtown or anything. A couple 16-year-olds probably waited upside-down in a ditch for an hour somewhere while this “public servant” patrolled the streets for criminals like me…

I wouldn't put university security along with regular cops. Security people at universities are mostly pain in the "O Ring" and go around looking for people to give tickets to, as in walk by every car in the parking lot. I also haven't had a bad experience with cops yet.
