dropped it for the first time

I dropped it for the first time tonight. Good news is no damage to me and only a couple more scratches on the bike, bad news, none really aside from a few more scratches on the bike.

I came to a stop at a stop sign and I stepped into a pothole when I put my feet down, by the time I got my footing back the bike was too far over to stop it so I just slowed it down as much as possible before it hit. Was able to pick up the bike by myself (its definately heavier than it looks), did quick check for damage and was back on my way.

It landed on the fairing and engine gaurd, and right peg. a few new scratches on the fairing and engine gaurd and the right peg was already bent from when it was dropped by the previous owner.

bummer to hear man. at least your ok and it doesnt sound that bad.

Its not a big deal. This is the precise reason why I bought a used bike to learn on. Nothing is bent aside from the right peg which was already bent

That sucks, glad to hear you are okay though and the bike is no worse for wear. How is the weather there? Still mid forties...low fifties? Still below 0C here.

Lol those potholes and shoelaces will get you every time.

But all your bike did was gain more character, nothing wrong with that as long as all the bits and pieces are still attached.

It was over 60F today. Was in the 50s yesterday. I have been able to ride to work for the past 2 days.

Its still over 50F outside and its midnight here.

luckily nothing bent, not even the brake lever.

definately glad the engine gaurds are there, they are absolutely nesscessary on a CX500 with its exposed cylinder heads.

Aside from that minor mishap my riding is definately getting smoother, the wallowy feel I was getting from the front end is gone now that im powering through my turns better, my shifts are much smoother and quicker, and my starts are smoother and I can now launch it hard if I need to.

The second bit is great to hear. But the part about setting it down really sucks. Then again I'm hoping it'll be your only one... ever, that'd be perfect, you didn't get hurt, and the bike was barely damaged.

glad to hear you're okay....and the bike too.......this is nothing compared to my first drop which cost $2,600..... ...it was over a month ago but still makes me feel stupid for dropping it....anyway, just learn from it.....altho i can't think of anyway that you coul've avoided that...
