Hey all,
I have a 1978 Honda cb400T (Hawk). I had the carbs rebuilt just a few weeks ago, diaphrames were replaced, new gaskets. It was running good for a few days, but the other day I started it, the choke was on and it was at idle, then all of the sudden it started running rough, and a I noticed a knocking noise coming from the left side carb.
I pulled the plugs, the left side was really wet, right side looked fine. Both cylinders have compression. Both plugs were firing strong as well.
The knocking sounds like it is coming from the carb, and when I place my hand on that carb I can feel it strongest from there as opposed to any other part of the engine.
I'm not too familiar with these CD type carbs. Does this symptom make since to anyone out there?? I'm stumped.
Thanks in advance!
Joey Mac

Not to sure - but I would go buy 2 spanky new spark plugs and try that. I had a problem last year with wet plugs - looked like she was sparking well and nothing seemed to work for me. Replaced the plugs and I was good to go.
It's a cheap thing to try.
