The manufacturer claims that my bike has a max speed of 75mph.

I was planning on doing a little bit of highway riding soon. This will force me to keep my bike at 60-75 pretty much the whole time to avoid getting run over. Do you guys think its ok to ride this bike at/near its max for an extended period of time? lets say 20-60 minutes

Most bikes are pretty indestrucable - as long as you have proper oil in the 'ol girl and she's safe for highway travel (tires etc) - you shouldn't have any problems...

Its not your speed but your RPMs you have to worry about. Just be sure when you are up there that your engine is not at the redline. If you have no tac and you have a rev limiter you probably dont have to worry about it.

If your bike has a claimed top speed of 75, you are going to have a very hard time maintaining it. My 79 suzuki has a claimed top speed of 160km/h (100mph), and I've had it pretty close to that a couple of times. However on some days where there are many factors working against me (headwind, uphill, some luggage, slightly out of tune engine) the bike has trouble maintaining a regular highway speed of 120km/h (75mph). Gotta remember that claimed top speed is in pretty much ideal conditions, pushing the motor to its limit in lower gears. Not something you will be able to maintain all the time.

I have dual purpose 18'' wheels on her and she seems to get to 70mph pretty easily. Never tried to keep her there more than a few seconds.
Didnt think of the headwind factor. I hope it would only cost me a few mph's since its somewhat a sportsbike and has all the plasic and windshield working for me.
As far as RPM's are concerned i was pretty close to red line in 5th gear when i hit it. So does that mean its dangerouse? or bad for the bike?

Does anyone have any information on this bike? It seems to be too big to be one of those pocket-bikes, but it looks like a cheap fun little bike to get to run around town with.

Yes i have one of those cheap bikes in Red. Its manufactured by Lifan which seems to have a good reputation, some affiliation with honda.

Its a full size bike with a 200cc motor. It weighs something like 290lbs. I chose to get it as a starter bike instead of the kawasaki ninja 250/500.

I have been riding it for a few days now and so far soo good
