Riding jacket questions

Hi all....went to the local Harley dealership this afternoon to check things out ( they were recently taken over by new management). While looking around, I found a really nice jacket that they have out for a limited time this year. I beleive it was called the switchback. It is a 3 in one jacket. Heavy textile on outside that actually zipps off in sections to reveal a mesh jacket underneath with a waterproof liner. It was pretty comfortable, and actually fit nicely, even with full armour. Only problem is, across the entire chest, and back were HUGE Harley insignia. I ride a Yamaha, and am not real fond of advertising for anyone. I've searched diligently on the web, and haven't found a jacket even close to what this one was by an aftermarket manufacturer......Does anyone know if Harley actually does their own clothing or if an aftermarket makes it for them and just badges it for Harley? Was thinking maybe I could find the same style with no markings.

Sounds a lot like the Joe Rocket "Alter Ego" model.

If you're lookin' for a new jacket, go to several shops and find one you like and that fits, and then start looking online for the same jacket. I've had lots of luck with
http://www.newenough.com. In fact, I've bought all of my riding gear from them over the last 4 or 5 years... except for my son's stuff. We had to go try on a bunch of stuff for him and it was all on sale anyway.
Seriously, though... shop around. There are good deals to be found.

Thanks for the help guys...has anyone ever heard of "Power Trip" jackets? I found a jacket, (the powershift model), they manufactur that is very close to the one I saw in the Harley shop. I am now researching their sizing before I go any further. My boyfriend bought a Joe Rocket jacket last year. He normally wears an XL....he took like a 3x in that jacket for it to fit properly

....so now I am kinda worried to order off line without being able to try it on....if I can find a good sizing chart though, I'll just compare it to the Harley Chart.....more research.....glad there is like a foot and a half of snow on the ground right now, so I am at least not wasting riding time doing all this looking!!!
Oh, and the research isn't over...when I decide on a new jacket.....I'm also gettin' a new helmet this year

I have a Power Trip jacket and love it... although... it's not the safest because you cannot tighten the sleeves around the elbows and stuff so if you wipe out the elbow protection won't stay where it should.

I don't know anything about power trip jackets, but I do have some power trip gloves and they have been great.

just make sure the sleeves fit properly - my buddy was wearing a jacket that was too big for him (in the arms) and it pushed up to near his elbow in a crash last weekend - pretty bad road rash might have been avoided had the sleeve stayed put.

Just saw an add for the Teknic Sprint Jacket. It has a "peel away layering system which converts froma waterproof/breathable/thermal cole weather jacket into a mesh hot weather jacket. Removable layers store in the included detachable backpack. A Teknic feautre now availible at your local dealer."
Might be worth checking out.

Thanks for all your help everyone. I have been doing lots of research on riding jackets the past week, and with all your help have found many new websites and manufacturers I never knew existed.
I have changed my thinking a bit and may just go with a mesh jacket for summer time since its really the only time we ride around here, but I am still very intrigued by the all in one jackets. We'll see, but again, thanks for the input and ideas...I'll continue my search and let you know what I finally decide on.
