I've just found the site whilst looking for reviews of bikes. I've been riding for a couple of years and currently have a 1985 Kawasaki EN454 LTD. It's a bit of a mess, but I'm slowly doing it up. I'll probably look at getting a new bike in about a year.

I look forward to finding my way round the site.

A Brit on a 454!

I have an '86 454. It is a great bike, but can't blame you wanting something new (I am lucky I like my bike better than my wife's, or I'd probably steal it out from under her :-D).

What do you think of the 600 Hornet? Its US counterpart, the 599, doesn't do very well - but we have rather odd views on displacement over here ("A 600? That's a kid's bike!").

Welcome to the forum.

I'm a cruiser fan. I just don't like the riding position for sports bikes and most sportsters. Plus I'm a shortarse, so a cruiser lets me get both feet touching the ground.

I'll be looking for something around 800cc that isn't so huge that it can't fit through the London traffic. The Triumph America and Speedmaster are looking good, but I'll need to do a proper test ride first.

I sat on a Triumph Rocket III at the London bike show. That may be a bit tooooo big.

A buddy of mine rides a Speed Triple (850-sh-cc model). Says he sat on the Rocket three and they let him start it up. Told them they'd better take the keys, or they'd never see that bike again!

I ike both of the Tri's you mentioned. There are some cool looking Vulcan's in the 750, 800 and 900 range.
