How do the different options compare when just looking at saftey?
And what do you guys wear? What do you find to be the best combination of quality, comfort, and cost?

i wear draggin jeans... it's not one of the choices, it's not armored since i haven't bought the armor upgrades.
leather w/ armor is the best from what i hear.
i dunno about your last question since i haven't had any other riding gear to compare w/.
i am planning on buying a 1pc suit for special rides though some time in the next few months.

I've got leather pants, and they're good ones and pertty comfortable, but I usually wear my Carhartt double-front blue denim heavy "logger" jeans. The jeans are just more appropriate or maybe I feel less conspicuos in them. The leather is good, and they attract attention which can be good sometimes, but typically not. I do wear the leather pants on longer trips, and jeans for around town, in stores, to work, etc.

I have a pair of Reinforced Jeans with armoured padding (I sprung for the race armour as it was only £3 more and I like my knees)
The 'armour' actually cost more than the jeans did but I was very glad I bought it the second the Bike went down.
I wear jeans rather than leather because I don't want to stand out too much when I am not on the bike and I find it easier to move in Denim.

When I made the poll, I was thinking Draggin Jeans would go under Armored Jeans as I associate Kevlar with armor.
What do I know though.

I wear textile pants. Joe Rockect stuff, I work in an office and would not dare wear the casuals to rid ethe 60KM home in. Fall off loose all skin from waist down.
I have been thinking about a good set of leather pants.

I have a variety, no I am not rich, just as you get older you accumulate
s!@t. I have a pair of plain lack Razors (SA's Draggin jeans) usually wear these if we go out on a night for supper but I also wear my MX knee pads with them. I have a pair of plain leathers and my favourites are my Schoeller combo's. They are a mix of Kevlar leather and stretchy bits. Uber comfy and well padded.

It really depends on me - no matter what, when you get on a bike, you're taking a gamble. Crashing isn't entirely up to you. If I'm going on a long ride, I suit up in full leathers. If I'm going to a friends, I'll wear my boots, jeans, my leather jacket/reflective vest(.mil required), helmet and gloves.

Don't have any yet, seeing that my MSF course is coming up the end of this month, but I plan on wearing Bohn Body Armor under a pair of Draggin-type jean. This is what I'm talking about:

Supposed to be comfy and protective.

I have myself some alpinestar textile pants I got off of newenough.com. They are pretty comfortable and allow me to wear pants underneath. One thing about them is that the crouch area feels small when you first put them on, but I have gotten use to it already.
